Every year, the El Cedral festival is typically celebrated to commemorate the day of the Holy Cross as well as the arrival of the 21 founding families who took refuge in Cozumel in 1848 during the Caste War. Residents and visitors enjoy throughout this week food stalls, traditional games, dances, shopping, and exhibitions.
